What drives your interest in working on solar energy issues?

Solar energy provides local benefits to communities ranging from economic to environmental to solar. Expanding solar energy will allow us to build a cleaner electric grid, while also building community as we create a more renewable, inclusive, equitable energy future.

What impact do you feel the SolSmart program and you as an Advisor will have on the communities with which you will work?

Local governments and communities play a crucial role in renewable energy development. By partnering with the SolSmart programs, communities have the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to solar development and lead in the field of solar energy development.

What aspects of your work plan are you most excited about working on?

I am excited to see the different approaches that communities will take to increase solar development depending on their local context. Each community is different, and I am excited to be working with a wide variety of communities throughout the Midwest.

What do you hope to gain from this experience?

Through my experience as a SolSmart Advisor, I hope to gain a deeper understanding on actionable steps that communities can take to expand solar development.
