Step 2: Review Structural PV Array Mounting Requirements Checklist

The goal of this Checklist is to provide assurance that a solar array does not overload (1) an existing residential roof, or (2) the attachments to the roof. These rules do not address the structural sufficiency of the components of the array above the roof. The components above the roof are engineered by the mounting system manufacturers. (3/1/19 Update)

1. General Site and Array Requirements (all square boxes must be checked; where slanted check box sub-options occur, one sub-option must be checked)
2. Roof Information (all must apply)
3. Array Mounting Equipment Information (all must be defined)
4. Member-Attached Array Requirements (all square boxes must be checked; where slanted check box sub-options occur, one sub-option must be checked)
5. Sheathing-Attached Array Requirements (all square boxes must be checked; where slanted check box sub-options occur, at least one sub-option must be checked)
