What impact do you feel the SolSmart program and you as an Advisor will have on the communities with which you will work?
I enjoy teaching and educating others. This program gives me the opportunity to educate communities about solar, its benefits, and how they can integrate it into their everyday lives. It also helps me to act as a liaison between the solar community, industry, and the electric utility and to help one of the greatest cities in the U.S. obtain its designation.
What aspects of your work plan are you most excited about working on?
I enjoy helping others succeed. I also enjoy learning new things. Working with different groups to come to a successful end is what fascinates me. On the way to this goal, I will learn a lot of new things that would enhance my electric utility background and help me become a better asset to the solar energy industry.
What do you hope to gain from this experience?
While working in the renewable development department at one of the largest utilities in the southeast, I was always fascinated about learning more about solar from a developer’s standpoint. This opportunity affords me the opportunity to close this gap.
I appreciate this opportunity to be a part of something new and great. My hope is that Atlanta will be the first of many cities I can help obtain SolSmart designation.
